OK all, even though I'm super jealous that I won't be there, I do have another suggestion for you. Remember last year, how much fun the day at Oscar y Lalo's was? Well, I have the PERFECT location for another such day this year. Casa Cenote. It's not much further than Oscar y Lalo's, but you'll like it SO much better. Get there early, pick your prime table(s) in the restaurant, and eat, drink and snorkel all day long. Those who like to snorkel will NOT be disappointed. Those who like to sit and drink won't be disappointed either. And those who just like to sit on a beautiful beach and take in the sights won't be disappointed either. Bill and I spent most of the day there on Saturday. It is fabulous! They are also plenty big to accommodate the whole "gang".

Doesn't Gary charge, like, ten bucks for a burger or something there? I agree it's a great spot. I first went about 6 years ago. Walked in from the highway and enjoyed a Sunday buffet.

New Years 2004

Ok, now I'm entirely too excited to be spending the New Year in PDC. We (a family of 5) will be traveling with another family (of 5) and staying at the Cococabana. Kids are 12-17. Arriving the 28th leaving Jan 4th. Any suggestions on activities for the kids are appreciated. We plan to snorkle & scuba too. BTW, the travel tips have been awesome.

Nope, no $10 burgers that I saw. 8) We got there early, got the best table, ate only a few snacks and drinks, and kept the table until late afternoon. They also watched all our stuff that we left at the table for us (while we snorkeled and walked the beach). Of course, we tipped very well.

Wow...this is turning into quite the party -- it'll be neat to meet you all in person.

We'll be in PDC from Dec. 17-Dec. 31. (We would be there for New Year's, but the airplane deal we got was too good to refuse.) We would loooove to join in for some of the aforementioned festivities. Is there room for my charming roommate and I to tag along on that trip to Muyil?

(Also, please note that I will be accepting Happy 30th Birthday wishes, in any language, on December 23rd.)

Quite a party

Here is a picture from last year’s high season high times on the Riviera Maya.

Some of the usual suspects, from right to left are:

DeniseA
Keith
Becky
Bill
TheCuz
Lisa
Mike
Julie
Rosa
Michaelholmes

This picture was taken in the late afternoon after a reenactment of one of the Corona commercials, at its original location next to Oscar y Lalo's. The PlayaInfo hats were courtesy of the Cuz (Chris). You may even see Rosa walking around Playa wearing her’s.

I also have some pictures of the Indiana Crew and our friends from Alaska. Remember the people your parents warned you about? The BFE 1 pic is next. I’ll post that one in a few days time……………

For the upcoming holiday beach road trip we may head out to Casa Cenote. Otherwise known as the home of Gary’s $10 beach burger. Yes Becky… I was there in 2001 and my recollection matches James’. We were happy to pay for the use of the bay. The snorkeling is much better than Oscar y Lalo's.

I have some wallpaper for your PC here.

The two pictures at the bottom center and right are from Casa Cenote.

- Mike

PS we’ll designate any spare seats for the Muyil trip during one of the La Ranita gatherings. There are 6 of us so far, but there may be some room left. Another vehicle would be nice…..

James and Mike, I think you two are embellishing just a wee bit about the cost of a burger at Casa Cenote or at least it would seem so from the prices that are listed on the menu that is on their web site --- have a look for yourself here.

I admit the prices are not cheap, but then again neither are the prices at Oscar Y Lalo's. They seem to be about on par with each other.

Susan! How 'bout going skydiving to celebrate your birthday. :o It wouldn't be on your actual bday, but close. A few of us are planning a jump on 12/28.

 Maybe 30 is too old to be jumping out of a plane.

Warning

Do you remember the people your parents warned you about?

Here are two of them.

Photographed just off the coast in the lost world of Quintana Roo during BFE 1.
Also rumored to have been seen amongst the wild crowd at Captain Dave’s.

Take a close look at the Jimmy Buffet t-shirt. I wish I had one.

- Mike

PS Me embellish?………………never in a million years.

Just wanted you all to know that I'm having no small degree of success in getting my head around the details for the dinner at our place, but haven't had as much success getting things finalized and up in a place you can all see them so that you can respond however you like. This is in no small part due to the arrival of the first of our three upcoming wedding groups tomorrow. But it will happen soon, never fear.

Dibiggs,

We hope you can join us.

Some of your vacation pics are still hosted on my site:

http://www.villaflamboyan.com/dianne/

If you do get to Playa. Be sure to be persistent when you attempt to track us down. We do want to be sure you can find us. Messages to James and Anna (via the internet) or left with La Ranita (a note to the owners) will find thier way to us.
