Weather from 30-10 till 24-11 Playa del Carmen

Hi there,

I hear a lot about the terrible weather in Mexico right now.
I will be going to Playa del Carmen at the end of October .

Do I have to be afraid of hurricans?

And what about the weather in that period, I thought we picked a good time to travel!

Please let me know

October is the end of the hurricane season and you shouldn't worry too much. I'm looking out on a blue sky, though it did rain during the night.

Even if September/October is hurricane season it doesn't mean we have a hurricane every year or that it rains every day. It does rain more than other times of year though. We have seen several consecutive days of rain some years (not this year, so far) but mostly we just get an afternoon shower and some wicked thunderstorms. A heavy tropical rain can be quite an experience. And remember, it's not ice-blended horizontal rain like in Northern Europe (I'm Swedish), but just warm water falling from the sky. Often it comes in pockets that are extremely local; to the point that one end of Playa is dry while the other end gets wet.

Playa early Nov.

I was in Playa Nov. 1-Nov. 8 last year. The weather was absolutely incredible everyday, but 1. It was cloudy that day - but didn't rain a drop. I will be returning Nov. 1 - Nov. 11 this year. I am hoping that I have more of the same to look forward to. Have a safe trip & hope to see you there.

Local8 congrats on the wedding and have fun on your honeymoon!

My wife and I honeymooned in PDC last year (nov 4th-nov 14) and the weather was gorgeous! In fact we loved it so much we will be returning oct 29th-nov 6th for our first year anniversary. Looks like there will be quite a few of us down there at that time... maybe we could all meet one night for a drink. hmmm... guess we can save that discussion for another thread! (although if the topic never comes up again, while in PDC if you happen to see a woman with blue streaks in her hair and her hubby with an 80's mop of a bob... please say hello!)

here's hoping for a repeat performance on last year's weather!

We thought about building an ark but all the wood washed away.
I deserve decent weather this year.
