Chillin' at The Mojo Zone

This weekend, after our ritual Friday dinner at Chicago Don Jose with Kim and J.J., we all headed over to Bad Brad's place, The Mojo Zone, to see if there was any live music to be had. Small bars and live music venues like this are hit particularly hard in the low season. When the world famous Tequilla Barrel has only 5 tables full on a Friday night, you KNOW that it's October in Playa!

Where is the Mojo Zone exactly? We wanted to stop by there in August but never saw it. Gotta prepare for Feb. now.

Mojo Zone is on 5th Ave. just south of the Tequila Barrel. The is a retail space below and a staircase to the right that leads upstairs to the bar. Usually, there is someone manning the door. It's a small space creating a very intimate "jazz clubbish" experience. We like it.

I second liking it as well

I was there earlier this year for the opening night and had an absolute blast! Really great music, great energy and fun people. I hope this venue is here to stay.

I know...we hung out for a little bit! I was there with Penny and Chris. I have a pic of you me and Rob but I can't post it 'cause I look like I got run over by a truck or some tequila

Hopefully be back down for a visit this winter...warm vacations are a must when you live as far north as I do. Hope you guys are doing well too

No wonder we missed it. I always forget to look UP when walking down 5th! We'll have to find it in Feb. Sounds like a good spot to hang out.

it's a neat place. has great fresh fruit alcoholic drinks. plus, the a/c works fantastic!!

Peep Meet at the Beer Bucket on Nov 29th around 8:30 and a Peep Meal on Dec 1 at Carboncitos. we have threads to sign up under Peep Stuff if interested!!!

we'll (my husband, my stepdaughter (then 6) and myself) will be in town 11.27-12.3.
