you should have tons of choices for that $$$$ value. Small boutique hotels in April should be very reasonable. I'm really not sure what you mean by "small boutique" but brings to mind Posada Mariposa, Luna Blue and I think (someone can correct me) the rooms should be about $50-$80 per day depending on amenities i.e. pool, a 1 block walk to the beach and using a beach club etc.
We went to PV for years and the prices have really changed according to the rates you've just mentioned.
We usually budget $100.00 per day (less the cost of accommodation) and have never had a problem doing tours and whatever else we wanted. I guess it depends on where you want to eat/drink. It seems some days you spend a ton of money and others nada.
I think in PDC for $200 a day, you can go "wild".
