Same with the all inclusive packages. My wife is like a day trader when it comes to planning trips.

She scooped us a week all inclusive at Gran Porto Real for $600 + taxes (flight included).

not too much, sadly. The flights there are pretty pricey to begin with (let alone adding on your second destination), so it's usually cheaper to find a sell-off from here. But it is really nice to have that United-Denver connection as an option from here now.

Kind of off topic question here. My friend is hopping to go somewhere south on the 26th or 27th of December. She won't book now as she thinks there will be a deal coming up the beginning of November. It would be out of Calgary or Edmonton. She is not fussy about location, just 4star resort. There will be 9 of them going so could make it even trickier to find. I tried to tell her she is crazy to try that at Xmas time, but she is willing to gamble. Anyone else ever book that late for travel then? I'd be to nervous about having my plans backfire on me.

For nine people, over the xmas holidays- no way I would not book ahead, just to be sure.

BUT- if they are flexible about where they go, and it sounds like they are, also they have two major airports to choose from? Chances are they WILL find something in early November, or even later.

We booked for 8 people in late November for xmas week last year, no problem. Paid only $198 plus taxes for airfare to Huatulco from S'toon too. So there are deals to be had for sure!
