How much is mac laptop? Doesn't have to be a big one I actually prefer a smaller one for travel, and I don't do anything fancy on my computer other than word files and internet, occasional power point.

The new MacBooks can run Windows, but they do not come with it. You'll need a Windows OS you can install and decide which program you want to use in order to do it.

You can boot into Windows with Apple's Boot Camp program, or you can use Parallels or another program to run concurrent Windows and Mac OS X sessions.

Office for the Mac has PowerPoint and Word and Excel.

iWork, an Apple program has Keynote (it can open Powerpoint files and save as PowerPoint) and Pages, which can do the same for Word documents

I have Office for the Mac (cheap license through the college) and iWork. I am learning iWork because I am so done with Microsoft when I retire

Not bad. The price, I don't know what those other numbers mean.

I can get the software through the U. I don't know if Office for mac is more than the 03 PC version I have was, but it sure isn't 300 bucks.

This huirts my head...

Looking online at the Apple Store.. it seems as though the Macbook pro has gotten more expensive in the past few months.

here is a question from a tech simpleton.... If I use Microsoft office at work and word, and want to be able to continue remote access to work from home, do I need to buy Microsoft Office or will my remote connection simply allow me to run my work system on my home Mac?

I think I found a good deal on a Acer laptop.
The problem is I don't know how to attach it to my post.
I have tried several times and it comes up invalid file.
It may be too big to download.Any suggestion on how to post it from Amazon.

Thanks in advance

Think I worked on that model the other day... it's a big boat!! Definitely not for travel...

Personally, I wouldn't buy a Windows7 computer with Home Premium... I'd be searching for one with Windows7 Professional in either 32 or 64bit. As for the Intel Core-I3... not a big price difference between that and a Core-I5. If you can jump all the way to the Core-I7 for a little more money, it would be worth it. You should be able to do better online, save on sales tax and with a little luck get free shipping.

Last week I bought a couple of Dell Latitude E-6410s through Dell's outlet store somewhere between $700-800. It was the Intel Core-I7 and came with a 3yr factory warranty and was loaded with similar features as the Toshiba you've linked to. Have no problem with Toshiba but wish I could get a 3yr factory warranty with their products.

I tend to avoid the Sony, Compaq & HP laptops...

Jimmy

I'm sorry...

...and for those of you with way too much disposable income,
...and who find the Windows OS too challenging,
...or who believe the myth that only Windows based PCs get malware,
...or have an investment in iTunes, etc, etc..

There's always those feminine products from Apple!!
