Charter, like most internet service providers, should have a web-panel that'll allow to forward mail from your Charter account to your Gmail account. By doing this, you'll still continue to receive mail in your Outlook/Outlook Express inbox. In other words, you'll get duplicate mail to both locations.

If you decide to use the Microsoft e-mail client on both machines, it gets a bit more complicated (and unreliable). I wouldn't recommend it!

I currently forward my Blackberry mail to a Yahoo account just so my mail is saved in a secondary location. Kind of like a backup, in case I lose my phone.

I'd call Charter's technical support to inquire about how to access your e-mail web-panel.

Jimmy

Jimmy,

I was able to navigate thru the Charter e-mail preferences and found how to do this. Right now I have the mail forwarding function disabled. When I get the new laptop I will turn on the forwarding function.

Thanks again for your help.
You're the best.
