I think they appear/disappear in the Smilies box to the right based on what you've used recently.

I thought it was just a random mix of all of them... cuz my faves drop off all the time...

since we only have a limited amount of space, we must have some of them in the larger, second click repository (unless I find a better management plugin).

However, if you have a fave, like the clapping guy, it's not too hard to get him by typing the symbol, which is : clap : (without the spaces).

there, I did it!

I agree, leave the funky ones for those who want to dig around. I'd much rather hit "rolleyes" than the surrender guy
