okay, lost my post and will not write it again. Nothing much to tell anyway since i have been sleeping for most part of the past two days... guess all the business trips in the past weeks now take their toll....
Glad i am in kamala now though. Going diving tomorrow and hope to have more nice pics for you soon. Rissa, ko phangan and phang nga are two different places. 'Mine" is know as the james-bond place since one of the films has been made there. |

Well, part of what was lost yesterday was that I'd been sick again in Bangkok and slept most of the day on the beach yesterday. I woke up yesterday morning being very curious as to the sight I might have from my room since when I arrived it was already dark but I could hear the waves rolling on the beach from my room. When I got up in the morning lots of dragonflies were dancing over the pool and I could see the ocean. My hotel is very nice, I have a big room (guess this is thanks to my friend Monique...
) and it is cheap. But I am not missing anything. Food there is good, so far I had all my dinners there as well. This morning we went out diving on a longtail-boat. The sea was not really quiet and usually I don't get seasick but today both Monique and I got seasick. The guys didn't (and Monique was worse off than I was). Sight was not that great but I saw a nice nudibranch I had never seen before (and I detected it myself *prideswelling* ). During the second dive I saw my first cuttlefish. *yeeehhhhaaawwww* Usually I am blind when it comes to octopusses and calmars... ![]() ![]() ![]() In the late afternoon we went to a big shopping center in Pattong since the dive guides needed some food. I went with them as I needed a sunblocker for my face I am not allergic to. I know one thai brand that I can use so I bought it there. Funny thing is in Thailand: if you want to buy some lotion for your body or face you always have to make sure it is not whitening. Most of the stuff here promises a whitening effect on your skin (which is what women here are dying for... ).Tomorrow another dive day in a longtail boat (this time I will take meds first though), then a day off and then we are going to Ko Phi Phi where I hope to take some great beach pics! Thursday is "james Bond"-day which is an excursion over water and I hope to take some nice pics there as well. MOnique is coming with me that day as well as another german diver who is travelling alone. So I am not really alone here...

Jack, I am not alone here I just flew over alone...
![]() Another dive-day with a longtail boat today. Sea was calmer today so I did't get sick. First dive was not soo good since sight was bad but the second one was much better. Not happy with my pics though... ![]() Spent another hour with the divers after having been on the beach for the rest of the afternoon. Had one gin tonic and then went to a scandinavian restaurant. Had a glass of wine and now I am drunk.... Tomorrow is a day off. Might go to Phuket town tomorrow but not yet sure. Wanna take pics on the beach as well, love the little crabs making holes in the sand and spitting the sand all over....

Beach day today and was sort of sick again. Not a problem since I had my room nearby... spent two hours with the divers in the evening and ordered new sunglasses with my dioptrin (since I have glasses with varying dioptrin now - I first asked what it would cost and the 350 USD I'll be paying are not half of what I had to pay for one pair of glasses at home).
Tomorrow it's diving at Ko Phi Phi which is the island where ' The beach" with Leonardo di Caprio was made. Will bring my DSLR with me as there are beautiful beaches there! |

Sorry guys, had not time working on pics. But the weather is supposed to change so maybe on sunday I'll have time to work on that.
![]() Being busy... we went to Ko Phi Phi yesterday and further to this having beautiful spots (with too many boats on them thought) we had the best dives so far. Saw my first lepard shark and a sea snake (kept away from it since you're dead four seconds after she bites you). Had lunch at a secluded beach in the middle of the jungle but I went back on the boat early to get away from the moscitos. Went to monkey beach after that where lots of russians were trying to feed bananas to the monkeys so they could take pictures. They were touching them on the tails and since on the beach you had to be careful not to step into banana parts I went back to the boat early again (I do have a pic of an unhappy looking monkey though). In the evening we went to Pattong which is sort of the Cancun of Phuket (guess it's worse though). In the hotel where we ate the owner asked us about seawesps that are supposed to have shown up in Thailand (they are deadly jellyfish) and Monique told them they are not in the waters around here. I just checked the news on this on a german website and found out they are on Ko Phi Phi - jeeez, glad I didn't read that before because I even undressed in the water before going back on the boat. ![]() ![]() ![]() Obviously none of them did bite me though as otherwise I wouldn't be writing this any more. ![]() In Pattong it is party all over but as a european woman you could even be invisible. I just observed the night life and obviously some guys hadn't found out yet that not in all women you see there are actually women inside... ![]() ![]() You either see it in the faces or hear it when they talk. Phuket it famous for those 'katoys' though. Went shopping in Phuket this morning since I needed some more dive equipment and then I strolled around in the shopping center some more. Went on the beach afterwards. You know what I love here? No towel game!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tomorrow we are going to Phang Nga (including elephant trecking - that was booked by the others when I wasn't around) and the day after we'll be on a dive boat again. But sunday I have a day off so there is a slight hance that I'll post some pics... ![]() Btw. further to the seawesps I read about the moscitos spreading chicayun-fever (spelling?) in Thailand. Geeeee, I am sooo glad to be here.... ![]() ![]() ![]() Having a good time and I can promise you nice pics. Sorry to have to ask you for some more patience but I am on vacation...
