Munichchick--have you ever been to Playa del Carmen before? About Cozumel, we stopped there on a cruise 2 yrs. ago but of course only for a day. Do you have suggestions for things to do (we spent most of the day that we were there at Chakanaab Park and loved it),we plan to go again but would like to make it over there at least twice this time and are open to ideas. Also, this day pass (or evening) to the Iberostar, does the $50 or $35 cover the complete cost of your dinner, breakfast, etc. or is this just to get in? Seems a little high.
Thanks, Linda |

Hi Linda! This will be our 11th trip to the PDC area and we have been twice to Cozumel.
Where should I start? There are so many wonderful things to do. Even after that many trips there we still find new things to explore every time or we go back to the old favorites. Just to start with I would recommend a visit to Xel-Ha and Tulum (can be done in one day) and visit some of the Cenotes (sinkholes). Xcaret is amazing as well. For snorkeling try Yalku Lagoon and Akumal. Of course you need to go to Playa del Carmen for shopping, dinners and bars. There are so many very good Restaurants and most are designed with lots of style. The Iberostar passes are for all-inclusive use of the resort either during the day $50 per person or in the evening/night for $35 per person. Basically you get everything the Hotels guest get besides a room. You can use water sports equipment or any offered activity. All you can drink and eat from morning to 6:00PM. If you go in the evening you get all you can eat dinner, drinks, watch the show in the theater and dance in the Disco if you like with free flowing drinks and snaks. We have stayed at a couple Iberostar resorts in the past and will do the day pass thing for sure. We don't like staying at an AI resort for more than 3 nights but it has been fun in the past. It's right next door to the Mayan Palace. |
