Latin Jazz Festival in Playa Nov 13-15

So, I hear rumors about a Latin Jazz Festival in Playa del Carmen during November 13-15. I've heard that there will be several local bands playing in the new square in front of Palacio Municipal on Avenida 20 on Nov 13 and 14, and that on Nov 15 there will be a big stage on the beach by Playa Tukan and some international bands will play, as well as some local bands (our friend Christian, who plays bongo at Apasionado, will play). I will find out more, but wanted to share these good news for now. I'll be there for sure!

Sounds like fun, we'll be there too! Where on avenida 20 is el palacio municipal and where is playa Tucan. We stay at Hotel Pelicano.

Palacio Municipal is on Avenida 20 between Calle 8 and 10.

Playa Tukan is on the beach :roll: , by Calle 26 and 28.

OK, I know more now:

Thursday November 13 and Friday November 14
8 pm to 10 pm - music on the plaza in front of the Palacio Municipal
10 pm to ? - Jazz sessions at Apasionado and at the ******

Saturday November 15
8 pm to 2 am - 6 bands playing at Playa Tukan, one of which is the Grammy winners 'Caribbean Jazz Project'

All entrances are free.

The plaza is between Avenida 15 and 20, Calle 8 and 10
Apasionado is on the corner of 5th Avenue and 14th Street
****** is on the beach by 12th Street
Playa Tukan is on the beach by 26th Street

We will just miss the Jazz Fest, but will be there Nov. 29 till Dec. 6. Any special happenings that you know about?

Nope, sorry. That doesn't mean nothing is going on then. It's kind of rare that we get to find out about anything this far in advance. Most events around here are only advertised a few days to a week before it happens. I guess most Playenses have a short attention span, and if you promote something too far ahead of time people will only forget about it!
