(CNN) -- As former aides to Sen. John McCain circulated charges about Sarah Palin, a spokeswoman for the Alaska governor fired back, calling the allegations "sickening."

Since the GOP defeat Tuesday night, former McCain campaign aides have been the sources of a string of stories about Palin.

One source involved in preparing her for interviews and the vice presidential debate told CNN "she had not paid attention to a single policy debate that's gone on in this country for 10 years."

I'm very interested to see what if anything happens with regard to Palin and Stevens' Senate seat. Just checked and CNN still hasn't called it. Says they're still processing results, with less than 4,000 difference out of over 200,000 votes. But of course even if he wins, is a convicted felon going to continue to hold onto his seat in the US Senate? Assuming that's unlikely, I wonder what Palin might do with the new election and so forth for it...

As of this morning, Stevens was up by 3,353 votes (CNN) with 55,000 votes remaining to be counted (Anchorage Daily News)
