I have had many questions about renting a car while in Playa Del Carmen. Obviously the best thing to do is rent (online-before leaving home) an economy car (the cheapest) in the hopes that it will not be available when you show up, therefore they should upgrade you. A higher end credit card will supposedley cover you for the so called mandatory CDW, therefore if you decline the coverage from the rental company you will be covered by your credit card.
My question is that normally the CDW includes the Third Party Liability. So if I decline the CDW can I buy TPL only from the rental agency? If so, how much would it cost per day? Am I right in thinking it will be 3.00 ? Any suggestions from solid knowledge or personal experience would be appreciated. [ This Message was edited by: durangov8 on 2002-01-21 23:18 ] |
