Makes me wonder what those people, other than the long term unemployed, are doing to help themselves. Almost, and possibly every aspect of my finances are in better shape than they were at the time of the last election.

Not to stir this all up again- but that is a legitimate point. NOT to excuse the use of it, but I do think that intention matters with words.....just like so many other words in society have had their meaning altered over the years, so has this one.I have been guilty myself of having it slip out in the past and now I never do....but it was never to demean someone who might be mentally disabled, ever, but the meaning PP conveyed. Raises an interesting point, I think- if the accepted societal definition of a word changes over time, at what point does the new definition (in this case, silly or ridiculous or outlandish notion) becoem the real meaning of the word? Or do we just say those words should die because they are too controversial? Deep Six! ![]() One of my favourite aliases. Other than The Goat. ![]() Quote:
Did they have plaster dinosaurs with people riding them...or was it a REAL science museum? Just curious. |

well, it was a bad choice of words....especially on THIS forum...and I think he likely knew that. Perhaps he was bored? Whatever! He certainly got his wish in the fallout, I am thinking, if that was the case! Of course, none of the rest of us are EVER guilty of posting inflammatory threads, links, photos, or statements!
