I agree with Ginger

It amuses me....the nomenclature used to describe a dem/liberal flip flop.

"They evolved", "had courage", "saw the light", "did the right thing" and blah,,,blah,,,blah to the point of nausea.

A republican does it and he/she is "spineless","doing it for political gain", "without balls", "two faced", "without principle" and on and on....

It's good for a laugh....

WASHINGTON -- As he weighed a shift in his public position on gay marriage, perhaps no one had as much influence on President Obama as his wife, Michelle."This is something that, you know, we've talked about over the years and she, you know, she feels the same way, she feels the same way that I do," Obama told ABC's*Robin Roberts*Wednesday.Even as Obama's position was in a state of evolution,White House*advisers say the first lady went out of her way to invite gay, lesbian, transgendered and bisexual couples to the events she sponsored for military families.Around the West Wing, there are several gay staffers, and at least one in a committed relationship and raising children. And the Obama daughters have friends with same-sex parents, whom the first family has gotten to know."There have been times where Michelle and I have been sitting around the dinner table and we're talking about their friends and their parents and Malia and Sasha, it wouldn't dawn on them that somehow their friends’ parents would be treated differently. It doesn't make sense to them and frankly, that's the kind of thing that prompts a change in perspective," Obama said.

But how do you feel about the CONTENT of the discussion regarding support for gays and lesbians rights to marry?

Have you always held the same opinion in this regard, or, as has happened to so many in our country, have your views started changing as you began to better understand, got more tolerant and accepting of views different from yours? Or have you NOT changed on this issue or any other issue? Never having gotten smarter as you got older? Hmmmmm?

I agree that is the way it should be....but, we seem to be making laws, at least in some states, that prohibit some from having the freedom to do what Mr. Eastwood desires....I think that is good reason to make a big deal out of it...government, once again, intruding in our private lives.

I am surprised that so many Republicans voted for Amendment 1 in NC....I thought they were opposed to the abuse of government power in our private lives?

Keep digging yourself deeper if you please. You know what I meant, but to admit that would take an act of honesty, and I would not expect that from you.

Many in those states, including Minnesota would be considered bigots. Do you really think I would defend such people just because I live in the state?

There was a distinstion in North Carolina that is different from some of the others though, including Minnesota. The North Carolina amendment also bans civil unions and I believe makes past civil unions invalid. I think it will also force cities that have extended benefits to domestic partners to end that practice. If you don't see what it is I feel very sorry for you.

Oh hell.....I feel like burning a little extra incense at my Obama shrine this morning over this.

My views are still "evolving", but I agree with one of the president's positions on this.

Can I flip on this later though?

I think this stems from religious beliefs and nothing more. Example, Islam.....
"When a man mounts another man, the throne of God shakes.""Kill the one that is doing it and also kill the one that it is being done to."

And that behavior is fairly common in Muslim countries where strict segregation by gender exists.
