Actually, what he said is that he would veto the DREAM Act

Conservatives are going to hate statements like the second bolded one above coming out of his campaign.
I doubt that...fact is (R) want immigration reform also... But by the time democrats get done adding all their BS pork into these bills they can't get them passed..

What Democrats will hate is a (R) President and a (R) congress that will get these types of things passed... and tell the Democrats to go sit in the back we dont need to hear from the idiots that made this mess...and were more concerned with passing an unconstitutional mandate...

Mitt Romney says he would veto DREAM Act
January 01, 2012

Quote:
Reporting from Des Moines — Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney has pledged to veto the so-called DREAM Act, which would provide a path to citizenship for children of illegal immigrants if they attend college or serve in the military.

Romney made the comments during a late campaign stop New Year’s Eve in northwestern Iowa.

“The answer is yes,” he said, when asked if he would veto the legislation if Congress passes it and he is in the White House.

It is remarkable that this thread could take such a significant downturn in terms of the quality of the discussion. I mean between DH's 9/11 hijacking remark and Mikey's poster of his xenophobic wants and Dan-O decrying 'the "right"' of people of the same sex to marry... And I for one have half the sogennanten contributors from this morning on ignore.

Great job, Americans!

The DREAM Act is the easiest reform, though. If Romney would veto that, there is no immigration reform leading to residency status that he would sign.

To those who don't support the DREAM Act, I wonder what kind of immigration reform they would support, if any?
