I'm all for buying American. But, in terms of Chinese goods, I'm afraid we can't put the genie back in the bottle. Americans are used to buying inexpensive mass-produced items. And, like it or not, we have gotten used to calling India for tech support. Technology has made the world smaller & much more interconnected. And I'm afraid there's no going back, even though a lot of politicians, including both Obama & Romney, would have us believe we can.

It doesn't mean I think we're done, it's just change & there will be a good & bad side to it. If you're one of the lucky ones who has a job that isn't exportable, be grateful.

I'm grateful everyday in regard to my job. Have been for the past 16 years. It's not going anywhere nor will it be taken over by anyone foreign.

I do hope that Made In America makes a comeback there's a great sense of pride there for our nation and hope we can achieve that again.

I do grasp it very well. There are suckers all over the world including Norway. I have a friend that lives in Sweden born and raised and she said she was glad it was the Norwegians handing him the award and not them.

He is just another politician and an average one at that. Plain and simple. Do you grasp that very well Steve?

I am delighted that our government is reaching out to people who may be hungry and eligible. That is an appropriate role. It is not adequate, though, which is why me (probably you guys) and millions of others make donations to our local food banks and other organizations that serve the hungry and homeless.

You have been saying that for 4 yrs now ...It sounds like the old saying "the check is in the mail"

Then when His incompetent economics policies dont work (DUH)you whiners dont take responsibilty, you just play the same ole burned out song "its the Republicans Faullt" Fing Whiners MAN UP and take responsibilty for your failed policies...(like that will ever happen--not )

Maybe the Govt should spend that money putting those people to work not wasting it on more political liberal BS ads... The reason all these folks need welfare and are homeless are again due to OBAMA'S and the Liberals FAILED POLICIES..

I think adding in "Homeless?" is a nice touch.
That key chain is not politically incorrect imo.

At least he has a pair. Five states have put together their own immigration laws because the federal government has their head up their ass and can't protect it's own people. And they have allowed an illegal migration to the point that is affecting our country in a negative way as much as the left would have you believe 15mill illegals is a great thing for America. What a crock. Talk about whacko stupid people. The left has cornered the market on that. Plus more people support the Arizona law than oppose it and that's nationwide. That's a great thing. Can you grasp that? I can even appreciate the 11% that think the law does not go far enough.

No, I have not been saying it for four years. That is not true.

I have been saying it for as long as it has been happening, about 3 years now.

Me too, Mikey, me too.

I'll be glad to step into retirement and let some younger person have mine in another year or so. My brother, a year older than me, just retired after 40 years with the same company. That does not happen much anymore these days.

Not saying that is a bad thing. Many folks go through a 4 or more careers these days. I am on my second, and for me that was plenty.

Kudos to your brother and you. Forty years is a long time to be at the same job and it is right up there with being married for that long in my opinion. I appreciate both and it does seem in this day and age they are both getting harder to find.

Ah, liberals, they have such a senses of humor. It's tough when one of your kid's and grandkid's favorite read-together authors turns out to be bat-shit crazy.

Interview with recently deceased Maurice Sendak, author of "Where the Wild Things Are"

Quote:
SENDAK: Bush was president, I thought, “Be brave. Tie a bomb to your shirt. Insist on going to the White House. And I wanna have a big hug with the vice president, definitely. And his wife, and the president, and his wife, and anybody else that can fit into the love hug.”

GROTH: A group hug.

SENDAK: And then we’ll blow ourselves up, and I’d be a hero. [Groth laughs.] To hell with the kiddie books. He killed Bush. He killed the vice president. Oh my God.

GROTH: I would have been willing to forgo this interview. [Sendak laughs.]

SENDAK: You would have forgotten about it. It would have been a very brave and wonderful thing. But I didn’t do it; I didn’t do it.

Bill Ayres is probably very proud of Sendak and his plan.

Talk about bat-shit crazy

Quote:
The Supreme Court’s ruling Monday against major parts of Arizona’s immigration law highlighted the GOP’s bind on the issue, with Mitt Romney awkwardly equivocating. A leading Arizona Republican sought to ease his party’s troubles by devising a novel claim: that President Obama was to blame for Congress’s failure to pass immigration reform under President Bush.

“I note that in his response to today’s Supreme Court ruling, President Obama called on Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform. I also note that the bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform bill I helped draft in 2007 was killed — in part — by then-Senator Obama,” Sen. Jon Kyl (AZ), a Republican leadership member, said in a statement.

The problem: Obama voted in favor of Bush’s 2007 immigration legislation, while Kyl joined the filibuster that quashed it.

I believe that Romney knows that stance would lose the election for him. I also think that in Romney's mind, the only right thing to do is to win the election.
