Maybe Merida has the things you mentioned because the free market is allowed to work to a greater extent than it is here in the U.S.? Insurance companies are part of the problem & "feeding the pig" with taxpayer money is not the solution.

That savings paid for 2 very nice vacations. Wonder what we can learn from their system. There must be something.
The overhead is alot cheaper in Mexico.
I have been to Dr Jorge's office with a friend..He worked alone, did his own lab work..You don't find many dentists in the US that do that. I have met only one dentist that worked alone and he did most of his lab work..He was also alot cheaper than the rest of the dentists. Most dentists have 2 other employees..A receptionist and a chairside asst. Mine has 2 hygenists, 2 chairside assistants and 4 working in the office part.

Also locations play a big part on any practice. In the US, the Drs office needs to look decent as well as the building it's in....Americans are picky about that. Then there is the extra overhead of a staff and accounting...oh and very expensive insurance coverage for the staff and the big one..malpractice insurance.

It's no longer cheap to practice in the USA.

Liberalism @ Tom Cruise@ oir President

People are judged by the company that they keep. Which is why Liberals and Hollywood are so comfortable with each other. They're all phonies.

Why zm i calling Liberals phonies. That's ,because for years we're told that we must accept certain lifestyles. Yet recently it's come out that Tom Cruise likes men for sex. Which is ok if you're into that stuff.

However we've been told for years that we must accept a certain lifestyle as a norm. Yet the industry that Tom Cruise is a part of won't accept a gay person. Unless they're married to a woman and have kids.

Which to me speells phonyism. Which is why our President fits in so nicely with those people. They're so into telling the rest of us how we should live and what norms ro accept. But they wont accept those norms themselves.

Covering a large proportion of the tens of millions of USA residents who do not currently have insurance is the primary basis for my support of the ACA. It is an ethical and a moral issue for me.

I think you are talking about the extension of MediCaid. If so, in order to cover the persons with higher income they are going to have to change some of the very restrictive rules that qualifies someone for Medi-Caid. If not, very few of the new "eligible" persons will qualify for it and still be in the same boat with no insurance.

You are a fascinating dude Stogey. Not many could so seemlessly segue from Tom Cruises "lifestyle" choices into a critique of Obama.

Jacko, I meant to ask you a couple days ago but WTF with that fracking vote override in North Carolina? Seriously, the lawmaker puching for the bill pushed the wrong buttom and ended up being the deciding vote to overrule it?

CB, sounds like you may need to exercise a little free marketry yourself and switch to doctors who don't make you wait so long for so little time with you. That's what we did the last time a doctor did that to us and things have been great since.

That was for my kids but my wife and I also switched doctors 1-2 years ago when we weren't so satisfied and again the results have been good.

That is part of what I am talking about, but not just that. There are already provisions of the law in force that probably increased the number of insured folks.

Not all without insurance will be Medicaid eligible.

It is interesting that the Governors who say they will not change medicaid are in states with the higher percentage of non-insured residents.

Hmmmm....Ann Romney said in an interview that her husband is considering a female VP and that would be her personal preference. That pretty much leaves Kelly Ayotte from New Hampshire and Susan Martinez from New Mexico. I will sadly leave Condi out of consideration. There was talk of a Congresswoman from Washinton state, (don't know name) but that died as quickly as it surfaced.
