No Labels. It's a bit Breakfast Club, isn't it?

It only took one conversation with Lisa Borders, one of the founding leaders of No Labels, for Akon to immediately understand the meaning of this movement’s message. Never give up your label, just put it aside to do what’s best for America. With lyrics like “See a man with a blue tie, see a man with a red tie; so how about we tie ourselves together and get it done,” Akon shares his passion for politicians to put the labels aside so we can find practical solutions to our nation’s problems. Akon stayed up all night to create this song and now you can listen to it for free and share the song to help inspire others to put their labels aside.

I don't think this is a joke:

I had to stop after the "blue tie, red tie, let's tie ourselves together" line.

As far as the name, well it may not be wonderful, but it least it doesn't subvert the principles of the very people it claims to revere. I'll give it that.

It does however remind me of Naomi Klein types and that "no brand" movement...

How fat is he?

I imagine many people would not vote for someone who is morbidly obese, no. People are shallow. And some people see being overweight as a character flaw, no self control, etc.

Bloomberg continues to insist that he is not running, but he really seems like he IS going to run.

Is 2012 the year for an independent?

Nope.

Ya know why?

Because no year is the year for an independent.

Bloomberg's protests seem a little too protesty to me. I think he's considering it.

Independent identification is on the rise after 08, over a third of the electorate in some polls I've read and nearing 40% among the college age vote.

That may be, and the trend may continue, but with the system so entrenched against independents, I don't think it will make a difference.

There was a good link I or someone else posted several months or more ago that explained the nature of this all rather well, but I don't remember where it is, now, or who put it together...

Interesting read here:

You Can't Change the Political Game Unless You Change the Rules

And, yes, I agree that the two party system is stacked against them.

Pawlenty supports reinstating DADT on Bryan Fischer's radio show.

Here is some information on Fischer first:

Quote:
Over the last few months, we've brought you news that prominent social conservative Bryan Fischer has blamed gays for the Wikileaks disclosure, told readers that Obama wants to give America back to the Indians, declared that bears are a threat to our Judeo-Christian culture, declared that no new mosques should be built anywhere in America and insisted that Hitler preferred using gay soldiers since they had "no limits."
.

Quote:
In an interview with anti-gay, anti-bear activist Bryan Fischer, potential 2012 Republican presidential candidate and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty said "I would support reinstating" Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

Pawlenty (R-MN) was on Fischer's radio show yesterday and touted his social conservative credentials and support of "of the family, of pro-life positions, of traditional marriage positions."

"I mean, families and traditional marriage is so important to that and I don't believe all other domestic relations should be on the same platform as traditional marriage, I just don't buy it," he said.

Pawlenty added that he thinks Roe v. Wade was poorly decided, and emphasized that he has "been a public supporter of maintaining Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and I would support reinstating it as well."

I believe that was Fisher saying the Bears are the threat.

And they are scary!

Or maybe he meant the evil bear family down the street...

No wait! He said threat to Judeo-Christian way of life...he must mean Hitler Bear
