The Sheriff will not be making the decisions. Before it is all over, unless the sheriff cooperates, the Federal courts will put into place and the Maricopa County Sheriff Department will implement remedies that will more closely align it with the US Constitution and with the law.

But to imply that a US citizen has to have undocumented workers to help them get along is bad enough. Then to add "who's gonna?"... like this is a void that we somehow can't fill?!?! Rather insulting.
I don't see where James did that, myself. Think he just described the situation as it actually is, not as it has to be. In other words, he seems to be talking about the current political and social reality, like the Reuters article he linked to:

Quote:
The industry view is that Mexico has the labor, Mexicans need the work, and Americans don't want to do these jobs.

Anyone watch?
I thought it was a great debate. Bachmann initially distracted me with that odd makeup, it almost looked like it was silver, but she is one tough lady. She took on Newt and Ron Paul, in fact she had RP as mad as I have ever seen him. Newt's explanations on the money he made from Fannie Mae are lame and border on insulting our intelligence. Just admit you took the money and move on. I did not think Newt had a good night.

I think Romney had his best debate performance in some time. It was nice to see Huntsman but the poor guy gets no camera time. My favorite moment was Rick Perry comparing himself to Tim Tebow. Santorum is just annoying.

I also liked the random but interesting question that was asked about Newts plan to eliminate circuit courts and impeach justices that appear to violate the constitution. That was not a question they were expecting but it was a great argument.

I think the FOX moderators did a great job, too. Though every time that ding went off, I thought someone was texting my BB.

I think this was Huntsman's last shot to register and he blew it. Sure, I liked the Trump diss, but he's still playing to the middle and that's not going to help with primary voters.

Perry comparing himself to Tebow actually works for the base he's talking to. I agree with you about Bachmann. She was strong, in fact, I think most of her debate performances show that she's done some extensive foreign policy homework. She could surprise in Iowa, especially since I think Paul just scared off everyone who was willing to give him the wild card, say anything vote. Troops just came home from Iraq and he insulted all of their hard work.

I wouldn't count too much on that!

Evangelicals being pleased by a Tebow comparison? I think that's one thing you could actually count on.

Not with the views of Tebow expressed by many these days.

The comparison to Tebow works as long as the guy keeps winning. If he goes into a losing streak, that clip of Perry comparing himself to him will be used against him.

I have to admit, even after all these debates, I have no idea what Ron Paul's solution would be in the event of a world crisis that required military intervention. He appears to be saying, "lets just be nice and we won't have any problems with anyone". Naive at best. I don't understand how his ideology would translate into policy.

The moderators were very good, especially after the Diane Sawyer debacle.

Like I said, it "works with the base he's talking to." By that, I meant evangelicals. Sorry, I should have been more specific.

Well then perhaps I should have been more specific, as Bearcat just was. Tebow is an unproven entity at the pro level. He was talked about as a gamble (as many promising and talented college QBs are) and it remains to be seen if he'll live up to that promise and the gamble pays off (as it often doesn't, in the pros). Given this situation, it seems odd for a guy like Perry who's a governor hoping to "graduate" to the presidential level to say he's Tebow, as people (and especially Republicans) seem to disprefer the untried, unknown, gamble type of candidate.

I'm assuming a far percentage of evangelicals are likely to know this, or to run in crowds who know this. I could be wrong, but that's my assumption.

Shrug. I thought it was an underdog, everyone thought I sucked, now watch my comeback in the final stretch type comparison. Which, if Tebow does fail (is he losing? I don't really know anything about this) then perhaps, like bearcat says, he'll regret the comparison. More importantly, it was an unabashed shout out to Jesus loving, knee taking evangelicals who are sick of everyone dissing their guy (which, win or lose a FB game, I still think is a comparison that will please that group).

No I got that basic connection, but like Bearcat, just immediately thought of the backfire sort of possibility, and also the more general "not yet proven to be ready for the highest level" aspect.

And specifically, being from KC, I thought of Todd Blackledge.

I guess that makes Newt: Tom Brady?(and Calista Gingrich is Gisele and Newt's second wife is Bridget Moynahan?)

One thing's for sure: Joe Montana ain't on the stage.

OK, that's the extent of my pop culture meets football knowledge.

Exactly! That's that guy you want to be.

And that comment pretty much sums up this campaign so far, too.
