Boutique hotel with pool near central playa and allows kids?
Hey everyone!
Been a long time since I've been on here. I'd appreciate any recommendations anyone has. My huband, 10 year old son and myself are going to Playa in Feb. We were going to stay at the BP, but the room we want is pricey for what it is. Does anyone have any recommendations for a boutique hotel that: isn't noisy allows kids close to beach and central playa has a pool mini kitchen or at least a fridge would be nice to have as would having two rooms to close off the little guy at night but wow that would be really picky! Thank you all for the advice! This is going to be our last trip down for a while due to pregnancy and a new baby in May! -Jenny |

Hi Jenny! We are also traveling with kids next week. We've rented condos in the past (and again this year) when traveling with the kids since they have their own bedroom, we get a full kitchen (great for breakfast, snacks, and keeping leftovers) plus a living room and extra bathrooms, there is ample space to spread out and not be on top of one another sharing a single hotel room for 7 - 10 days! We stayed at Porto Playa condos last year and they were gorgeous!! Great location, pool, and really luxurious. Highly recommended. This year we are heading farther north and staying at Natz Ti Ha (Porto Playa unit we wanted was booked by the time we got around to reserving). Natz Ti Ha has nice reviews from many folks here and it has a very nice pool, but it is farther north (near Shangri La Caribe). Here is one place we looked at that is close to the Playa Palms (centrally located), it has a small roof top pool: The Blue Pearl Suites Playa del Carmen - enjoy an affordable family vacations, eco adventures or the best honeymoon suite in Playa del Carmen, Boutique Hotel The Blue Pearl I think the trickiest requirement of yours is the pool, actually. Luna Encandada condos has a nice one, but it is spendy. In Playacar there is Xaman-Ha condos, also witha pool. Have a great trip - our boys LOVE Playa (and actually don't spend much time in the pool!) And congrat's on the new baby! |

Thanks for the suggestions!
Blue Pearl and Adventura Mexicana look amazing. The Trip Planning section is good but many of those places don't allow children but I don't think that is listed. I spent most of my day trying to pick a place. It would be so easy if my son didn't love being in the pool. |

Another place to look at is Club Yebo | Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Mexico. The prices are excellent and it is well maintained. It's a short block from Playa Palms where you check in. You can also use their towels and chairs.

Las Palmas condos on 26th between 5th and 10th were great for us - I have a pool lovin child too! 2 BR/2B unit offered plenty of space and privacy. There is a nice roof top pool and patio area and just a GREAT location, comes with passes to Mamitas Beach Club too. These condos are underpriced I feel - but don't tell them I said that!

Plantation House
We stayed at the Plantation House which has a small pool and a nice deck to watch the kids while they are swimming. You are in the heart of Playa and there is a kitchen and washer and dryer connected to your condo. It was relatively inexpensive.
