Adult Only & AI & Topless

What Adult Only AI is topless very common?
I realize that topless is not unusual in Playa but there must be some AI that topless is common most of the time. I don't want to stay at a clothes optional or nude resort. What AI caters mostly to Europeans?

You can be topless on the beach at any adults only AI. Around the pools...not so much.

It seems topless in Playa is fine. But by no means is it a standard. Meaning, keeping your top on doesn't draw attention. We had a 13 year old, and 7 year old boys with us and YES... day 1, they were paying attention! After day 2, you hardily notice.

It's the Euro crowd and it becomes completely natural after you acclimate. You literally don't pay attention. And that's at a family resort! It's not a nudist, swinger thing.

Use common sense and be careful on Sundays as alot of local families go to the beaches and remember we are guests in their country. If you do this you should be OK.

As someone who goes to a nude beach in her hometown and is in a happily monogamous marriage, I would ask that you reword this nudist OR swinger thing. And I imagine there are swingers out there who aren't nude outside their home, so they may not want to be equated with nudists...............

And, yes, topless is fine anywhere in Playa- just use common sense, like Craig said. Sunday's are a big local family day. That being said- I have no problem being nude in front of strangers (see nude beach above), but I have never once gone topless in Mexico. It's not really accepted in their culture and I guess I have just never felt comfortable doing it. But lots of people do

We just returned from Sandos Playacar, and the majority of people there were Europeans. We, being American's, were definately the minority. Out of the thousands of guests there, I only saw 2-3 topless ladies at the beach, the same 2-3, every day. And, in my opinion, they should NOT have been topless.

So you think going to topless on the beach is accepted in the USA culture?
Try it on most beaches and you'll get arrested.

Point taken. What I meant was it is totally natural and not something to be concerned with when choosing a resort. The topless women don't get your attention as much as the speedo wearing men. Now THAT should be illegal.

We stayed @ Aventura Spa Palace in Riviera Maya last november and there were a handful of topless women. They def. were't Europeans though, they were american. We also stayed at Sun Palace in Cancun and OMG>everywhere...there were a ton of topless women there. At the pool if one woman had her top off it was like a domino effect. The beach was worse all the way down towards downtown. Mostly MUCH older women and YEAH..their husbands mostly wore banana hammocks too! Not a pretty sight. When its not something your used to seeing, it catches your attention no matter how many times it happens...Pretty, ugly, young, old it wouldn't have mattered.

No, it's obviously not. I happen to think that's silly, but that's just me The beach we go to is privately owned, so it's a different story. Everyone knows that one section is nude and you have to walk a loooong way to get there.

It was just my opinion on topless in Mexico, Rick Something about locals always being around and it not being really that acceptable to them just makes me not want to take my top off. This goes for AI or in town. A more secluded beach would be something different entirely. Anyone is free to disagree (and many, many do).

As for Play Del Carmen, we just wanted a AI that topless is very common but did not wish to go to a nude resort. I didn't want to book a trip & only a few people were topless. We once stayed in Cancun & topless was accepted at the pool & beach. Hopefully, Playa has the same thing.

hi, dont worry one bit around the beaches in playa, i spend a great deal of time on the beach there ,and there is always topless, the first few days i am rubber necking, but after that its just another day, 1 day i decided to count just for fun and i got up around 72 that passed by, then i lost count and had some more beer.....i go topless all the time....dont worry, enjoy
