Smoking laws in PDC?

Hi there,
Just a bit curious.......is there smoking bans in PDC anywhere?
Restaurants, bars and/or shops?
Seems you can't smoke anywhere, here in Canada anymore, so just wondering if it is as far reaching as PDC?
Thanks, Patrice

No smoking in interior public spaces (shops, malls, restaurants and bars) ...meaning, smoking is permissible (mostly) at the open air tables

But since most restaurants and bars are open air, it has little impact.

i have found that the restaurants only allow smoking at the tables immediately street side and no smoking elsewhere...but that is not an exhaustive survey

We were offered an ashtray at CDJ (inside seating) when we were there in July. Didn't take them up on it and just went outside. Surprised me though. shrug

Thanks alot, good to know!
I guess there really isn't any 'getting away from it' is there?
Oh well, being a recent (3-1/2yrs) non-smoker, once in a while I really enjoy the smell of a good cigarette!

It was not being enforced in July...
It seems the word came down that the law is to be taken seriously because fines were going to be issued to the establishment and the smoker.
That's what I heard...but I hear a lot of things around town that aren't true

Ahhhh.....I see. No biggie. I don't see what the big deal is having to go outside anyway. California trained me.

Babes' south would not let us smoke at the outside/side of the road tables, but let others do it....

Good for you for quitting!

Now, whatever you do, do NOT get sucked back into it down here. It seems to be way too easy to do. Promise?

smoking

Apparently any establishment with 3 walls are non smoking. You have to go outside. There are a few good spots that do not have 3 walls and are considered outside even if they have a covered ceiling.

Seems (don't quote me on it) that this started to be taken serious at the time I got down here, so beginning of September.

I was just going to mention this, glad I kept reading to see that YOU did!

But yes, we were told we couldn't smoke at the outside, street-side table but the table right next to us (Mexican girls) was allowed to smoke. That really ticked me off. No smoking is totally fine, but I don't dig the double standard.
