New BBQ place

Hi y'all,

I'm not sure if this place has "featured" before. It's new to me.

It's called Longhorn BBQ and it's on 45 Avenue between Juarez and 2 Street.

I just had a place of brisket with potato salad and beans for 50 pesos.

He has chicken and pulled pork too!

Open from 9.00 a.m. until 8.00 p.m.

Try it out.

Paul

REALLY? Ah, I see you're from Canada.

From Wiki:

Pulled pork is a form of barbecue. It is a method of preparation in which pork, usually shoulder cut (sometimes referred to as Boston butt) or mixed cuts, is cooked using a low-heat, long-cook method. With these extended times at low temperatures, the meat becomes tender enough that its weakened connective tissue allows the meat to be "pulled", or easily broken into individual pieces. Pulled pork is found around the world in a variety of forms.

From Heather:

Pulled pork is friggin' delicious

Take a pork butt, rub it with salt & pepper and about 1/4 tsp liquid smoke. Put it in a dutch oven,in the oven at 300 for about 4 hours.

Pull the meat off and serve on a soft Torpedo roll with guacamole and pickled jalapeños

Don't know what part of western Canada you live in but here in Vancouver we have lots of places that sell pulled pork. My favourite is Memphis Blues the best pulled pork on the lower main land.

The best way to "pull" pork for sandwiches is to "fork it"....yes, I spelled that right. Pull the pork with the tines of a fork and put it on a roll and add your favorite sauce. Mmmmmmm.....

Talking Thanks Paul

Hi Everyone,

My name is Curtis and my wife and I are the owners of Longhorn BBQ. First I would like to thank Paul for posting about us and the nice things he has said. Then I would like to invite all of you to stop by and try a little Texas style BBQ. I do have to clarify that we dont pull our pork we smoke it just as we do our beef. Also the sauce is homemade with my family's recipe.....it secret.

We are in the process of obtaining our liquor license so when that is done our hours may change a bit.

We look forward to meeting you all soon

Hi there. Just curious...are you from Texas, like born and raised here or have you lived here before?

I'd love to try your place out when I make it back!
