One other thing to consider, especially after "The Miracle in the Hudson". All 150+ people survived, but what about what was in the cargo hold??

Guess not, huh?

I would really like to go away for Christmas next year and would be either Mexico or New Hampshire - but I really want to take my babies.

how big are they, you might be surprised!

We met my GF down in Mexico last week, they brought their dog, a 'bug' (pug crossed with border terrier) and he actually fit under the seat in his carrier! His legs were long, and he is NOT that small!

They do allow dogs on the beaches on the Pacific coast though, unlike around Playa...not sure I would recommend taking your dogs to PDC.

I should add Michelle- they flew from Spokane, and it was an American airline- either United or American.

They give him a half a Gravol (marketed as Dramamine in the US I think?) and he slept the whole way! (except for a brief moment when he got out and tried to run down the aisle. )

I too would rather have a sedated pup near me than a screaming kid.
I don't think people with allergies are affected much by dogs on flights usually- isn't it airborne saliva/dander that makes people react? Not much time on a short flight anyway, to get much of that airborne, and the animal is kept confined.
