Is there an age limit for a man to call women cougars?

Okay, see... the woman is only a cougar TO the much younger man she is hitting on. And I think the woman can't be over 60 and the man has to be no older than mid-30s. However, it could also refer to a woman in her 30s hitting on a guy in his early 20s... but I think there has to be at least a 15 year age difference. These are my rules, of course. Feel free to make up your own.

15 years is a pretty big age difference. Women over 60 are cheetahs.

The question still stands. What is acceptable? Can I not call a woman a cougar because I am 36?

If she's your age, no, unless you're referring to her hitting on young guys. If she's hitting on you, she's gotta be substantially older.

EDIT: And you can't call me one because I'm not hitting on you. (Or any other younger man, for that matter.)
