The Playa Vets, Lori the Virgin and Loke....A Trip Report

So with all the other reports, I wasn't going to do this, but there are things that Shammy left out and things that Doggiemom wasn't there for, so here I go.

I was bringing my friend Lori with me to Playa. This was a first for her. It was also in celebration of her birthday. I had had a call from Vikki (Myhappyplace2) a couple of weeks prior. She said, I don't want to tempt you, but how would you like to go to Playa Dec. 7th thru the 14th? Well, anyone that knows me right now, knows that I will go anywhere on a whim. So...........there is the start to what was a fantastic trip.

Lori and her daughter pick me up at 6 am and we head for the airport. Check in and security were a breeze. Then it's off to the bar for a couple of double bloody mary's.

The plane ride is uneventful.............well, except for the Russians!!

Seriously, was there a convention this week? I'm sorry and I don't want to offend anyone, but OMG!! They stand in the aisles. They block the flight attendants. They don't understand the seatbelt signs. Then there was little Alex. He belonged to one of them. He was running up and down the aisle. Someone was kind enough to teach him to use the flight attendant call button. At one point the flight attendants were serving next to me and one turned to the other and said "Isn't it time for him to go out and play"? So, it wasn't just me.

Landed in Cancun. Lori got the red light. Not gonna be easy to break in this virgin

Finally get to the bus and off we go. Now, I've never taken the bus. Always a cab, so this was new to me. I just kept saying "are we there yet?" The bus really was great, but when you're used to just getting where you're going it makes a difference.

We get to our hotel and drop our bags. We've got to meet Rissask at 8pm.

I'm so excited to finally meet her. We've got some time to kill so we stop at Siesta Fiesta to see my friend Chris play a couple of songs and then it's off to Babe's for a quick bite. Well dangit it's Sunday..........Babe's is closed. What to do, what to do. Let's just go to the Beer Bucket for a quick drink. We'll eat later

Yep, it sounded like a good idea at the time.

So we sit at the Bucket and order a couple of beers.

Now we'd been up since 4:30am. No food to speak of and it was now about 7:30 pm. Hmmmmmm..........not a good combo. The real reason for this trip was to surprise AnnaLynne (Shammy) for her birthday. What I didn't realize at the time was that AnnaLynne was having dinner with Rissask, her neice Steph, Susie and Linda's friend Tim. Someone let the cat out of the bag that the surprise was me.......I'm not naming names...Steph

So finally they all arrive to hugs all around. Since I'm starting to get a bit fuzzy at this time

He had nothing but wonderful things to say about you both. So sorry we didn't get the chance to meet. Our paths will cross, I'm sure.

We have some stories about him (Loke) and he was staying at Fusion at the same time on our first trip

to Playa.

well you will not have to worry about snow slowing you down...

I will show you my tan when I get back .. only 13 sleeps.. no a problem..
I can do it..... should practice up on the tequila drinking...
and maybe pack soon... but not yet...
