When David and I stayed at the Iberostar Quetzal in May 2004, we did a day trip to Cozumel and bumped into some fellow guests from the Quetzal. We joined up with them and all went to the Iberostar Cozumel for lunch (since we could get into the resort and eat/drink for free, why not?!?) I remember one of the guys telling me that the Iberostar Cozumel guests probably don't venture into downtown San Miguel too often since the taxi ride was pretty high ($25 each way). The Iberostar Cozumel is (I believe) the southernmost resort on Cozumel.
