Ok gotcha Ron, well said!

Every life lost before their time is a tragedy, either famous or not. Famous is in the eyes of the beholder.

The only difference between them and the average Joe is that the media does not leave them alone to grieve in private. My heart goes out to their family. I hope that they are left alone to try to deal with this and that the media does not eat them up for choices made etc before the facts even come out. I've already seen posts other places about them leaving their son alone to shower, no anti-seizure meds, etc etc. Sadly, hindsight is 20/20 and no one is perfect. Famous or not, we all hurt the same.

This is indeed tragic, but I wonder if it was at all avoidable. I say this because many, many people have speculated that Jett was autistic. Of course Scientology does not believe autism is a real affliction and as a result he was not treated for it. I don't know how Scientology feels about epilepsy either but if he was afflicted by seizures often, as the media has reported, then it sounds like that's what he could have (I am only speculating). As someone who has dealt with epilepsy my whole life, I can tell you that one of the reasons you want to treat seizures is that something catastrophic like this can happen.

Very, very sad regardless.

Yes they do Tj, and every single one of them is heartbreaking! When I was younger, before children, I had a discussion with my older sister. She told me if she had to choose between loosing a child over loosing her husband she would pick the husband, no questions asked. At the time I thought how strange, wouldn't you need the husband to help you get threw the tragedy etc etc? Then I had kids, now I too can understand her easy choice! Not that we love the husband less, but the loss of a child is something that no parent should ever have to deal with.

What I am saying is that I just don't understand why when a celebrities kid passes away there is a huge thing about it for days

Maybe I shouldn't speak my mind, because I can't type exactly my point.

No that's okay. I was following your logic. It's not heartless, it's a comparison tragic events suffered by parents every day.

pretty much anything that happens to a celebrity makes news for days... the fact that this is an actual tragedy of the worst kind means it will naturally be in the news for a long time... it doesn't make it less of a tragedy, nor garner less sympathy for them, because they are celebrities... perhaps not any more sympathy than you would for a "regular folk" who lost a child (which may be part of your point) but certainly not any less

Okay, that I do understand, and don't believe that they deserve any more sympathy than those of US who have lost children.

Of course you can speak your mind, maybe I just misunderstood. And, this is a very sensitive subject for me, and only those who have gone through it, could possibly understand it....lucky for them.

The thing is, it's a tragedy whenever a parent loses a child, whoever they may be IMO. We talk about it here, just like we post when a celebrity themselves pass away... because we have some kind of connection with them. We've seen them on TV, movies, etc.

Kind of the same with folks here on this board... I've never met many of the people that post here, but when tragedy strikes their life, I am sympathetic because I feel somewhat of a connection with them. But the loss is no less tragic than anyone else who suffers a loss.

I read that too. I sure hope that was not the case.

Can you imagine how they would feel if that is true and it turns out they were negligent or lax in his care due to their religious beliefs (knowing full well this is not proven to be the case, here)...the guilt would be pretty overwhelming I would think....although I am not sure JW parents who don't allow their child lifesaving treatments ever regret it, or 'get' it, later.
