I read my reply to Kathy. She is guessing about $500 most years.

Are you guys counting shoes and bags and and stuff? Because I think you're way underestimating! It doesn't take long for $30 or $50 items to add up. I tried to figure it out from my year end credit card bills.

I know that i am not underestimating! First off, i hate hate hate to clothes shop. I still have clothes from back in high school that i still wear ( I wonder what happened to my saddle shoes?) When and if i shop, i go to Savers, or Good will. Used clothes stores, or my sister pics stuff up for me at garage sales. Yes, we are a very cheap, and frugal family

My wardrobe (If you would call it that) i wore in Playa was thanks to all the local folks here in Toledo who donated their clothes to Good will.

Kathy is. She has a couple of purses and buys one or two pair of shoes a year.

She is not a big bag or shoe person, and her stuff lasts, like forever.

But with shoes and all added into it, maybe not. Anyone else have any idea how much they spend?
When I am actually working full time?? Way too much. I can blow money way to fast at the mall

Exactly! Tell me you are all underestimating! I am feeling like a spoiled brat here....it IS all my own money too, not the husbands at all, we don't have a joint account or use credit cards for clothes ever.

I maybe have a bit of a problem too.

I will go shopping with you, Char and Mel ( I love Winners too, when I am in the mood).

I can't even begin to imagine the damage I could do in a good shopping city in the US, like Vegas ....in Great Falls, Montana last summer I spent about $600 in two days and all they had was a lousy Herbergers and one teeny Victorias Secret!

I think my estimate was a bit high, too - last year I spent more than I usually do, and made a couple of higher-end buys that will last me a long time. This year will likely be less ( I am focusing on the house )

Char and Mel would be at opposite ends of the spectrum, I'm pretty sure... it'd be like Amateur Night followed by the Super Bowl...

You said you wanted shopping buddies! We can do that. It's not like it's rocket science.

I have a couple of GFs who are serious, hardcore shoppers. They are sisters, and the one lived in Dubai for 7 years, her DH is an airline pilot, and she (before they had their two kids) was a flight attendant. So she has shopped all over the world PLUS she is loaded. I am talking Prada, Gucci, Versace, etc.

She makes regular shopping runs to Vegas, New York City and London a few times a year. She is going to NY next week for 4 days!

And she gives me and her sister her hand-me-downs sometimes- right on!

Me, too. I have one (inexpensive) handmade purse that I bought like 3 years ago at a hippy fair and about 8 pairs of shoes (summer and winter), most of which I've had for a few years. I REALLY dislike shopping, and if I find something I like, I keep it for awhile I have rarely bought an item of clothing not on significant sale, with the exception of my winter outdoor gear that I bought when I moved to Maine. So that would have been an expensive year, too. I love secondhand shops and our local "dumptique"- which is free

My vice is vacations And my dog. She's a spoiled brat

I LOVE to shop for clothing and purses AND SHOES...

but am lucky to own a ladies clothing consignment shop, so I buy a lot from myself...and from a lot of other consignment shops (inventory!)...but as a Canadian I think my favorite thing to do is clothes shop in the US - so many different brands, great style and GREAT prices! I have NO control in an outlet mall and buy just because the prices are so good! Of course I sell my clothing often, so it is just a continual cycle.

I am sure I spend 3-5 thousand per year.
