I'm still in the dreaming and imagining phase

Pretty sure it won't be Playa, but it could well be Merida.

Trips to Playa would still be special, but more frequent and less expensive

Trips to Progreso, on the Gulf coast, would take 35 minutes or so and 13 pesos if we took the bus.

I see alot of posts from people wanting to move there after a fabulous vacation and the response they recieve from people that actually live there has been interesting.
I wouldn't have the guts to do it myself, so thanks in advance for letting me live vicariously!!
It would be a stretch to say that it's similar; but there have to be a few parallels between some transplanted Playenses and people who move to Park City after skiing/riding there.

Once in a while, I hear, "I can't believe you're at work, Juanito. There's a 12 inches of fresh powder at Alta!". I tell them that I have to save up to visit Playa more.

Yes. I have communicated with them on another board, but that board is closed now.

Very true Juanito. Living in Utah the mountains definatley call my name... but unfortunatley I do sometimes take the beautiful of the place I live for granted. I like what you said Suzie. I wish life wasn't so busy that we could take more chances to enjoy.
