Sunscreen and checked baggage
Not sure if this topic has been covered before... but does anyone know if it's okay to pack an aerosol-type sunscreen in your checked luggage.
More specifically, Coppertone has a product out called Coppertone Sport Continuous Spray (coppertone.com/coppertone/products/sport/det…) and I'm just wondering if it's okay to pack it in my checked luggage. I'm not even sure if it's classified as aerosol. I have 4 bottles of the stuff and would love to take it next month to Playa... just wondering if anyone has taken this stuff or if they know of the regulations for it. I'd hate to have it taken away as it's not the cheapest stuff out there. Thanks! |

Baggage holds are pressurized the same as passenger compartments, so there should not be a problem. With any liquid though, it's a good idea to put them in plastic baggies in case of leakage caused by the usual "gentle" baggage handling.

Thanks for the reply Bumper!
Thanks Bumper... I kinda figured it would be okay, but thought I'd check anyway. I guess worst-case scenario is it is taken out...
I've always used ziplock bags for all liquids on trips... and the really big ones work well for bringing back liquor bottles (with a little bit of bubble wrap around them for padding). Thanks again - sure appreciate it! |
