Oxfordshire/London/Brittany
Because I've been nagged by some folks, I will try to give a picture-type trip report of our bitter-sweet trip to Europe in December/January.
I love flight maps ![]() ![]() We stayed in Abingdon (I quite love it there) once more, but this time at Kingfisher Barns Rye Farm. We had a delightful cottage with two bedrooms and full kitchen. Mother didn't cook much though We ordered breakfast every morning, and this is how they came, two baskets filled with goodies.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A bit of the scenery around Kingfisher Barn. Very quiet, and definitely gave that country feel. ![]() ![]() We always saw this couple walking in the early morning and in the evenings. I loved watching them.

Yes we did back in May. This was our second visit to the area. Here are a few scenes in Abingdon. Plus the country market which I believe was held on the Monday. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I do quite like Oxfordshire

Continuing with Abingdon and that one day of blues skies.
Posh Nosh offered all sorts of take-away food, and the name alone was enough to make us try some "junk" food for lunch. Pizza, burgers, kebabs etc. ![]() River behind one of the pubs. ![]() Later in the evening...Christmas lights.

This was the "sunny" day we wanted to spend in Oxford but figured we might as well snap a few shots on the way there. I could seriously live in Abingdon, and keeping my fingers crossed that we will go back soon
![]() ![]() The Broad Face pub has the BEST freshly made pub food in Abingdon. Their prices are much higher than other pubs, but you realise why once you taste their homemade meals. Simply delish! ![]() And the drinks weren't half bad either ![]() ![]()

Couldn't resist the naked bird display. I know, I must be sick ![]() ![]() Sausage shop. ![]() The Pie Minister. A must stop at the covered market. ![]() The Royal family's Plum Pud recipe. Must try this one. We popped into a very small museum in Oxford, and can't remember the name but the focus was on Christmas. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Now to London town. We love London. There are no words to describe how we feel about London, so let me move on before I bore the pants off those who stop by.
London is magical at Christmas. ![]() Hyde Park was transformed into a Winter wonderland. Couldn't get good pics of the ice skating rink, but there was one and it was packed! People were shuffling on skates. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Fortnum & Mason: Inside.
![]() ![]() What shall I get you for Christmas? Baked spiders, what else? Low fat, high protein ![]() ![]() The best looking shower hats I've ever seen. Couldn't resist. ![]() ![]() Outside window display. There were way too many people inside and outside, so picture taking was not easy. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Cheer up. I love Rowan Atkinson. Unfortunately, the night we wanted to attend, was sold out. Maybe you can get there before he quits in July? ![]() And to help you feel even better, care for a Steak & Ale pie? ![]()
