We tried Cry Baby's just because it was right on the corner of where we were staying last week and one of the kids in our group REALLY wanted to go. It was okay but I wouldn't go back. I had the mushroom blue burger and it was okay. My son had a plain hamburger and he said it was very dry. My husband had the prosciutto sandwich and didn't complain but didn't rave about it either. The kids did love their shakes, though.

On the other hand, we ate at La Pummarola twice (same owner) and enjoyed it just as much as always. Their ravioli con porcini y prosciutto is fabulous! And you can't beat their ensalada mixta. Mmmmm....

Updated restaurant list

Where can i find the most current restaurant list you have? We are returning to pdc in may and want to make sure we don't miss anything note worthy. By the way, las brisas is great we eat there all the time when in playa and the food is really good and affordable, try the sopa mixto!

Try the "Updated Playa Restaurant List" thread, a few below this one. There's link on the first post that will get you to the most current list available.

Random thoughts after a week or so

PG's Sandbox, excellent shrimp tacos and ice cold beer. Inexpensive, great service. 4 visits this week alone.

El Sarape, excellent food and very inexpensive.

Las Brisas, excellent food and very inexpensive.

La Distilleria, great tuna steaks, street coupon for free margaritas made for a great and inexpensive dinner. Excellent service.

Media Luna, good food, ok service, not expensive.

Blue Lobster, excellent meal and atmosphere, watch your bill total as "mistakes happen" Quite expensive and probably would not go back.

Fusion, great location and atmosphere. We found the food quite good but on the expensive side compared to most other values in Playa.

Las Mananitas, good breakfast good value on 5th.

La Parilla, good food and value, horrendous service. Will never go back. Worst waiter we've had in years.

Bang, on the beach, expensive lousy food and expensive beer, ripoff. avoid.

Asadero el Pollo, awesome roasted chicken meal, take out or eat in, feeds four for 90 pesos complete with tortillas and fillings. A favorite.

Playa Panacar Beachclub on Cozumel, excellent service and great food. Do not miss if you go to cozumel, rent a car by ISIS.

Java Joes, great coffee and bagels. Don't touch the countertop display, it is not grounded properly and you'll get a good shock. LOL

more to follow.......hopefully.....

I ate at Cry Babie's by myself this past March. I loved the veggie burger and fries and the portion sizes.
However, the service was terrible. Each time I needed something, I had to get up from my table to ask my waitress--first for condiments, then for another cervesa, then for the check.
And NO it was not busy at all.

Thumbs up Anyone try Cueva de Changa?

Walked past this place a million times and since you can't see much from the doorway, kind of headed right on by. It's off 5th at 38th, down toward the beach. For a very reasonable price, had the best salad and fine piece of fish, everyone in our group loved their dishes and the atmosphere is very interesting. Try the goat cheese and grapefruit lettuce salad, it is amazing!

Yes, you are right, I don't visit this subforum too much but I think as a moderator, you would understand that, rather than comment on it, let it slide as there are probably a lot of people who don't visit every subforum as often as you.

I live here - skip dinner at Cueva. Stick with breakfast and lunch and you won't be disappointed.
