Favorite Margaritas?

When in Playa where do you like to go for your favorite margarita?

Playa Maya's are good.....the place directly across from Shangri La Caribe made a MEAN margarita as well.....anyone know the name of that place? They were small and expensive, yet DELICIOUS!

Since several of you are saying Playa Maya, this works out good because that's where we are staying.

The problem is you get a good one one day, go back the next, different bartender, different Rita. See my trip reports, links below, that might help you some.

I tried a few place 4 weeks ago, I did read Jimonthe river trip report. The best place I found was a bar called 'Living Bar' not 100% sure on the name but it is right in front of the Tucan Hotel. I like them on the rocks so you need to make that clear or you will frozen.

2nd Play Maya, they went good with the tacos.

I tried La Hora, not good, Ajua had good one & Beer Bucket okay.

I second La Tarraya. It has the best Margarita I have ever had in Playa. Nice and tart with just a touch of sweet and what seems to be a good balance of tequila. Most places put way to much sugar surup or something in theirs that it tastes processed and way to sweet. La Tarraya has a nice balance of lime and other goodies. A super size (grande) is only 40 pesos (less than $4) which makes it even better.

Good margaritas & food at La Tarraya and being on the beach with your feet in the sand makes it all even better.
