We watched Horrible Bosses last night.....it was pretty funny, not 'The Hangover' funny by any means, but good.
Jennifer Aniston plays a bit out of character...she was great at a sexually harassing boss who takes harassment to the next level. ![]() ![]() Lots of big (and not so big, but recognizable) names in this, almost cameos, some of them...Jaime Foxx, Kevin Spacey, Donald Sutherland, Ron White....Colin Farrell was priceless as a cokehead with a terrible comb-over. Going to watch the new Pirates of the Caribbean 4 tonight or sometime this week. |

I had wanted to see Sarah's Key when it was first released, but my wife wanted to read the book first. She still has not read the book but we watched the film this week. It's a French film about the 1942 Vél’ d’hiv’ Round-up, in which the French police rounded up Jews, who were then deported to the death camps in Poland. Very emotional film about an incident I was not very familiar with. Kristin Scott Thomas did an outstanding job in the lead role.

We agree, we liked Sarah's Key too but it still haunts me. Sophie's Choice did them same thing. I just can't wrap my head around the fact that it really happened and people were forced into making similar decisions. I believe it, dont get me wrong, but I "just can't believe" humans did that to people. How on earth did they get that screwed up? Anywhoo, on to a lighter subject.... We watched A Madea Christmas and loved it. We are Tyler Perry fans and love his character Madea. So if anyone out there is a fan, this is another fun movie!

I don't know if it was mentioned earlier, but I watched "Winter's Bone" a couple of days ago and it was awesome.
Who was looking for good documentaries to watch? Look for "Paper Clips". It's about a rural Tennessee middle school's Holocaust history project. What they did was amazing. |

Great! I have seen the previews, by now (must have asked that awhile ago!) and it looks good. I love the style/feel of those movies. Can't wait to see it. We watched the most recent Pirates of the Caribbean movie last night and we were both underwhelmed...'disjointed' was Don's description....hard to follow, just more of the same Johnny Depp swishing around. Penelope Cruz was gorgeous and sexy as ever, though and the mermaid scenes were VERY cool...vampire mermaids! |

This years Christmas Day movie was The Descendants. George Clooney did a wonderful job IMO and I liked the movie overall, but not one of my top films of they year. It's an indie film and I think at times they tried to hard to bring that point home.
At noon we have a scheduled appointment with Lisbeth Salander.

Saw the new Mission impossible on Thursday....Just OK, Tom Cruise in kind of at the end of his action career. IMO.. The scenes in Dubai were very cool though. Then on a whim Friday, drove the forty miles to a new super upscale theatre to see Lisbeth. Well worth the trip, very well done and just non-stop. Not sure if you could keep up if you hadn't read the book. I liked the casting a lot, especially Robin Wright.....well, I just like her any way She's my Jenny

My son went with me and also enjoyed them even though he had not read any of the books. He had no idea what to expect, but he said "that was good but super twisted"
