Newbie or not Newbie, that is the question

Hey, just wanted to introduce myself. I Live in Michigan and I dont know if I can stand another one of their winters. Over 100 inches of the white stuff, and as much as I like to ski, I only want to see the white stuff of Playa. (the sand that is) I love to play tennis, drink good beer (Micros and Imports only) and listen to good music.
Bringing the wife and kids down for our first stay in Playa in April. Can't wait. We have been to Cozumel twice, Cabo, Mazatlan, PV, and Cancun and now will be in PDC.

Loved them all. Anyways, it looks like a great forum, and hopefully I can add to it for yrs to come.

Art aka. Newkie (Newcastle Brown Ale)

P.S. By the way, is there any public clay tennis courts nearby?

Yeah, it could be taken that way, but actually I meant in PDC. So for everyone else that knows of some public clay courts, feel free...

Thanks

Apparently B & K didn't read Bumper's thread about being nice.

Welcome aboard.

Welcome to Playa.Info, Newkie. Another Michigander here, on the other shore, with lots of snow also but still less than you have! This is a *great* forum, lots of helpful people and insider info. Be sure to check out the restaurant list!

I recall there being a nice looking public sports complex in town that might have courts, but I don't remember exactly where I saw it. I thought someone had mentioned it in a thread before regarding where to play basketball or soccer or something. You might like to start a thread titled "Looking for public tennis courts" in one of the other sections, to attract some local eyes that may not be checking out the Intro threads...

In any case, have fun browsing the forum, and enjoy the warm weather this weekend!

GZ (also ¡N00b!)

BTW, LOVE Michigan micros!! Have New Holland, Arcadia and Founders in the fridge right now...

There are tennis courts in town, but I don't believe any of them are clay. Welcome aboard, I like your thread title...a LOT. I'm a sucker for the literary reference.

Welcome!

100 inches, that will probably still be there before you leave in April?

Thats alright everyone, I can handle a good smart ass when need be.
As for tennis courts. I love to play, and for some reason I thought clay courts were very common in the Latin speaking countries? I would probably only play if I knew there was a clay court nearby, as we dont have any up in my neck of the woods. I grew up playing on them in FLA.
Also, yes I would rate Michigan Micro Brew Companies high, with the best all around in my opinion Bells Brewery out of Kalamazoo.

I will post in the other forums to see if I can get a hit on the clay court issue.

Thanks everyone, well almost everyone for the kindness.
