My concern with taking an excursion offered by our resort or travel agent is the high cost and the fact that we will be on a schedule. I hate to stay somewhere all day long if we can do what we want to in an hour or so. Does anyone have any advice or personal experiences to share?
I would like to know as well. We will be at the Viva Maya the second week of June and plan to do a couple of excursions as well. I've read in some reviews that the "safest" (and most expensive) way is through the resort. Of course, there are those that say that you should do it on your own, as long as you are selective. Since this will be our first stay in Mexico (prior to this, we've only visited during a cruise), I'm not sure ...
