Next stop Akumal:

The view at Lol Ha restaurant-note the glasses of iced tea we're pretty sure the tea was bad since all three people that drank it ended up with the revenge. Good thing I only drink Coke Light down there-I was the only safe one. We felt a little guilty getting Chris and Mark to switch from the All Inclusive and then they got sick, but it sounds like they will try this way again next time because they had soo much fun.

So we jump back on the collectivo and head back to Playa. Chris and Vic are starting to get sick as soon as we get off the collectivo. I drag Mark out to Babe's since I'm hungry and it's Valentine's Day and I'm in Playa and I am NOT gonna sit in the room all night. I say drag because Mark is your typical cheeseburger and fry guy and does not like to try new things. He ordered the curry noodles which it turns out was a bad move since he got sick in the middle of the night, too! Apparently, those things burn coming back out. I really feel guilty now. They say it's ok, they had a great day anyway and loved snorkeling in Akumal. I forgot to say also that the 3 of them loved the iced tea sooo much that they all ordered a second glass

Wow, me too, Jack! I'm an iced tea lover, so that could have been a problem for me too. Note taken. No iced tea at Lol-Ha. Keep those pics coming, Alisa, they look great!

Great pics, Alisa! I'm pretty sure when I take my students to Akumal next year we'll be staying at the Hotel Akumal Caribe, which is affiliated with Lol Ha, so I'll make sure none of the kids drink the iced tea!! Don't want to have to deal with sick kids...ugh!

Yes, when we arrived it was the day after the revenge hit. I remember asking Ian and Connie a million times where you guys were!!!!

Note to all take cipro asap! Dont wait 4 days like I did

Also, Akumal was bonita as always. However there wasnt as many fish as in previous years. The turtles are still there. I am talking around the reef. Maybe just a bad day?

We did rent gear:

$12 for fins, mask, snorkel
$6 for vest

Looks familiar - that's where I recognised you Sounds and looks like you had nice time there too. For what ever reason, after trying Mamita's once, we stayed at Kool rest of the beach days of our two weeks.

Next morning Fusion for breakfast. Vic had french toast(easy on the stomach) and I had mexican eggs. I forgot to take pics, but the food was good and you can't beat the view.

We headed back down to Aventura Mexicana and found Chris sitting by the pool reading a book and still recovering from the iced tea.

We went to check on Mark and he decided instead of sleeping in the dark, cool room-he might as well sleep by the bright and sunny pool area.

We decided since the 3 of them were not feeling too well, we would just chill by the pool for today. It was fine by me-I had everything I needed right there-pool, sun, beer, bano, food.

After me drinking beer for the 4 of us all day(I think I had about 8 beers by the pool) we decide to go get cleaned up for dinner.

We finally ran into Ed and Nancy and they had made reservations at Carboncitos to celebrate some of our birthdays.

After a nice dinner with good friends, we call it a night-we have Tulum tomorrow with 26 peeps.

The view as you enter El Paraiso

Scott, Ed, Ian, Connie, Alisa, Vic, Nancy, Penny

Steph and Penny with their matching suits

Wendy and Mike (A1Vacation)

For some reason- I never got a picture of everyone in our group-we should have taken a group shot as soon as we arrived, but once we got to the beach everyone found beds and chairs and we couldn't all sit right together since we had so many people.

If any of you have any pics from this day, feel free to post.(Soo-z, Scott8paint, Beachluvver, A1vacation)

My favorites-I could look at this water all day

Beach Volleyball

Rounding up the troops to head back to Playa

We get cleaned up and Ed and Nancy are heading to La Pummarola for Italian. So we decide to follow along. It's true the Italians know where to find good Italian food. It was great.

After a nice dinner, we decide to call it a night after the long day of sun and fun!

Next morning we head to La Vagabunda for breakfast

Vic had waffles(another easy on the stomach item)

I had a breakfast bagel

Today turns out to be one of those laying around at Kool days

Babe's for dinner with Ian and Connie-gotta love those giant margaritas

Then a stroll down 5th-it seemed very crowded, but we never saw a cruise ship the whole time we were there

Then a stop at Morgans for Vic's cigars

Your pics are so clear and beautiful! The water pics are making me miss it so much!! It's snowing here and we're supposed to get a nor'easter tonight. If there's no school tomorrow I'll devote myself to a TR! But I think lots of people will think they've already read it!!

I'm so proud of Vic for being such a trooper! (Love the big bandaids on his feet!)

I forgot to mention the blisters he had on both feet after the first day and wearing new sandals. He was a mess this trip.
