Nothing to worry about. Just took my 15-month old nephew there and felt perfectly safe. Only bump was blizzard in Newark canceling a day and a half's worth of flights. I'm glad I hadn't really heard about the alert on cartels - since I've been back people come up to me and say you went to MEXICO! How bad was it? The answer - fine.

Saw these guys out on patrol yesterday. Surf appears to be dangerous. Taxi drivers are, well, exciting.
I feel safer here in Playa than Minneapolis.
