Blackberry vs. Iphone
My not-so-trusty Razr cell phone died, and I am in the market for a new phone that will also give me access to the internet at all times (need this now that my life is a lot of running around and being away from my computer).
Can any of you tell me about your Blackberry or Iphone experiences? Why would you think one is better than the other? Has this already been discussed? Should I have done a search?

I've got an HTC Touch Pro, and it's pretty darn fantastic. Similar functions as blackberry/Iphone, way more room to customize if you are a technology focused person, and it runs on windows mobile.

not sure about the iPhone, for me the monthly payments would be far too high, but Don has a Blackberry Storm and it is great for texting. I have a Razr2 and I wish I would have got one with a full keyboard now.

They have plans here for both Blackberry and Iphone that are not cost-prohibitive. I'll check them both out today and try to do a little research. Have to pull the trigger quickly, though, can't live without a cell phone in this business.

My opinion: IPhone
I have a blackberry (work) and IPhone (personal/business) and use both daily. If you can get used to the touch screen typing I'd go for the IPhone. Being able to use WiFi for internet access in lieu of the Edge or 3G network is very helpful. (FYI I have a two year old blackberry - not sure if the newer models allow for WiFi connectivity but mine does not.)

My BB doesn't have WIFI and I got a new one in november. Might depend on the modell though. I use the BB only for business mails and it worked fine in Playa. For Internet the screen is too small (when someone sends me a screenshot in an email I can hardly see anything... ). But this might be depending on the modell again as well.

I have never used a Blackberry and am not a heavy texter. I have owned an iPhone since they came out and I like it a lot. I get a sense that some heavy texters prefer a physical keyboard.
The wifi feature is wonderful |

I have a Blackberry...damn thing keeps allowing these annoying messages from work through!
Huh??? Its supposed to do that? Good thing I didn't throw it away then! Actually, if it wasnt for work, I wouldn't own a cell phone. |

I work in IT as well which is why I have that damned thing.
Comes in handy though whenever I am on vacation and Internet-cafes are not within reach. I don't have a preference on BB, I just don't have an iPhone and can't allow myself an oppinion on that. So I just try to pass on what I think is missing (or not) with BB since I do have some experience with it. ![]() Andrea |
