Gift Cards in Mexico

I am trying to register for gifts for my upcoming wedding. I can't register for anything traditional b/c I don't want to ship it when we move to Mexico a month after our wedding.
I was thinking about Walmart, Sams, and Home depot gift cards. Does anyone know if American gift cards to these stores work in Mexico?

I believe I read that they are not accepted, I may have to look for that answer somewhere - but that's what I think I read.

HERE so unless something has changed, I was correct.

Why don't you ask for Visa or Mastercard gift cards, I think they work. That way you can spend it where you want to.
