Jazz on 5th

Back in 2002 we found an upstairs place that had Jazz nights. The entrance had a grand staircase leading up from the street. It was on 5th and ????
Also the band playing was called South Beach. (I think)
Does anyone know what I am talking about? We will be back in July and would like to find someplace to listen to some nice smooth jazz.
Thanks

Sorry but the Jazz place is an old memory now... Its probably been closed down more than two years.

We have salsa and jazz all afternoon 2.30pm to 7pm on the beach every Sunday, maybe that will give you your fix?

Apasionado- we enjoyed that place, had a nice relaxing dinner overlooking 5th and listened to some decent jazz there a few years back. Yeah, it's another restaurant now...

When I saw your post I knew you were talking about Apasionado.
We loved Apasionado! Before we returned to Playa 2 years ago I inquired about Apasionado that we discovered on our first trip to Playa in 2002. I was disappointed to learn it was no longer there. I remember back in 2002 we stumbled upon it and really enjoyed their music and the food was delish. Too bad it's no longer there.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I hope to stop by Zenzi to check out the music on the Sunday we are in town.

We had a wonderful dinner there one year when we were staying at La Tortuga. We were wandering down 5th and heard the jazz music and decided to give it a try - the food was very good and the jazz was great. If I remember right I think the owner played sax. Shame that it is gone.
