I think that Sorianna has "fixed" the problem. I was there twice in the last week and both times none of the bar code price scanners were working - a coincidence no doubt. Also, instead of charging by the kg for their rotisserie chickens, they now have a smaller chicken at a set price (which is as much pricewise as their former "larger" chickens).

Here we have what is called the 'scanning code of practice'. Most retailers here have scanners that scan the UPC symbol and if the price on the shelf is lower than what the product scans through at, you will get that item free up to a $10 value. This encourages the retailer to be honest with their pricing and keep their point of sale systems up to date. I have caught mis-pricings on items several times at places here like Superstore, Walmart etc, and they all adhere to this code.

Not sure if you have something like that in the USA, and it appears not in Mexico :p
