Can I bring my fitness supplements with me?
This may sound like a silly question to some people, but to some possibly not and hopefully they can answer my question. I am in the middle of a rigorous training regiment that requires me to take daily supplements, I was curious as to if I can get through both Mexican and US Customs with these? I've never had to travel out of the country with stuff like this before? Anyone know the answer or can direct me to some place that may?

I have been taking supplements for years through the airport. Sometimes they ask what it is and just tell them its for your health/body and they are fine. To be honest I just think they rifle through your bags to make it seem like they are doing something. Don't get me wrong, they have dogs to sniff out drugs but you have nothing to worry about.
BTW: I have an issue with my passport, the number matches that of someone with a passport from Russia. So I get checked every time going both directions. The best part is when I come back to the States> I get the "special" treatment. I get pulled aside until EVERYONE else goes through customs and until 2-3 people search my stuff. FUN STUFF, I just learned to live with it. Last edited by Senor Bob; 04-21-2009 at 06:28 AM.. |

Yes of course legal supplements, I was talking powder forms of Protein, and a few other things. They are rather expensive and I didn't want to have to throw them out because I couldn't bring them either way ya know... thanks for the info folks I appreciate it!

I bring protein powder back with me almost every time I come in. I also usually put it in ziplocks since the tubs are so huge. I've been asked before what it is and I just tell them. In spanish, it's "polvo de proteina." No biggie. However if you have pills and that sort of thing, I'd definitely keep them in their original packaging.
