Choosing a tour

I will be down in Playa June 18-25 with 15 close friends and family. We are trying to decide between two tours. Not everyone will be participating, but everyone that is wants to get their money's worth. We are deciding between Alltournative tours and Edventure tours. They appear to be the same in almost every respect, except the Edventure tour gives you the opportunity to swim with sea turtles. Anyone done these tours and have a suggestion of which would be the best for a first time Playa experience?

I love the tours this site offers. For the price the tours are really personable. We did the Coba tour 2 years ago and enjoyed it. We did Coba, swam in a cenote, went to eat at an athentic mayan resturant and after that we went to a families personal home. They were selling souverners (sorry I cannot spell that word). It was awesome. We got to feed their monkey and check out all of their neat little animals they had.

Any tour you do you will have a great time. Hah your on vacation.

Do on your own.

Hire a private driver/van (10 passenger) for 10 hrs. day through playa.info. The driver will be at your beckon call....taking you to where ever you want at your own pace.

We used playa.info for this service 2 weeks ago and it was great.
Our family of 8 (4 adults, 2 seniors, and 2 toddlers) went to Coba, Tulum, and Akumal Bay. It was the best money I ever spend. The driver picked us up at 8:30am and we arrived at Coba before 10am. Left Coba by noon to beat the rush. Make sure you take the leisure walk to the big ruin so you can see the other ruins a long the walk. And if you want, ride back in a pedicab for $5.00.

The highlight of Akumal Bay was swimming with the turtles and seeing the fishes so close to shore.

Ticket to Coba and Tulum is 51 pesos. or $5.00USD.
