mexican respiratory infection

Hi all

it seems like there is a serious respiratory infection throught south central mexico which means nothing because this infection can be spread world wide in a day with air travel. just keep your hands clean don't hang around people who are actively coughing, keep your hands out of your mouth haha keep basic hygiene habits and you should be fine.

Is a flu variation, and 80% of the affected are in Mexico city, theory says that it came from the North with migratory workers.

No warnings for the Riviera Maya.

I'm currently in Merida, which is a city of just under 1 million in the yucatan peninsula (5 hours from Playa Del Carmen), and I haven't heard anthing about this flu. I don't think it is an issue in this area of Mexico as of right now. Happy travels

Merida has my heart I'm living with a mexican family in their home and taking public transportation or walking around. I love the food, the people and the weather it is HOT!!! It was over 100F/40C last week and I don't have airconditioning in my house! I think I might take the bus to Progreso on the weekend.
