Help! Is PDC a mistake for my single girls looking for single guys to party with

Having some doubts...Had been planning a trip for June and decided on PDC...heard it was nicer and safer than Cancun (I was there 14 years ago) but with lots of great beachbars and nitelife. But, the forums here seem to be mostly from couples, honeymooners and families. I will be traveling with some really 'young' 48 yr. divorced friends as well as a couple of 27 yr. olds that will 'not' be happy unless they have the challenge of single men to party and dance with. As bad as I hate to say it...I guess its like sportfishing to men...not much fun if there are no fish!

Someone please advise as this is a very important trip for one of us who has survived 2 rounds of chemotherapy, etc. and this will be our celebration of that. We need upbeat and FUN and I'm having nightmares about unhappy campers blaming me! lol Had determined we should stay in PDC so as to be able to walk to 5th bars/clubs. Was considering the Gran Porto since want to be on the beach and The Royal doesn not fit our budget. Am I way off base.....should we go to CANCUN and fight the masses or is there a reasonable AIC there that would have a great nitelife and are the clubs there really all dangerous and trashy AND filled with college age kids?

I'm married, but I've done girl trips with two single friends in their 40s and they had a great time! (How great of a time? My friend didn't take her cell phone and was giving out my number so I got a call from one guy last month. I give her the message and she says "Wonder which one he was? The wind surfer or the guy with the yacht? )

The reason Playa Del Carmen is one of the hottest most desirable holiday destinations in the world, is because it has virtually everything...

A girlfriend and I took a Girls Trip to PdC a couple of years ago. We were probably 30 around the time. We had a great time! We are both married with kids, but it was nice to be away from the everyday responsibilities of being a mom/wife. And believe me, there were plenty of men of all ages offering to make our vacation a memorable one.

Our trip went something like this: slept in REALLY late, got up and ate brunch, shopped all day or laid on the beach all day, went back to the condo late afternoons and snacked, took a late nap, then showered and dressed, went out for a late dinner, went bar/club hopping, then stumbled back to the condo in the wee hours of the morning, usually around 4 am! You get the picture. Actually, the maids got a little frustrated with us because we kept the door deadbolted and they kept trying to come in around 10am to clean and we were still passed out. We tipped them really well to try to make up for it.

Believe me, you'll have a great time! Don't stress!

Cancun for sure-PDC doesn't need the "action" from really young 48 yo divorcees.Don't remember seeing any hairy chested/gold chain wearing types in town on the last visit. You'll love the entire ersatz experience in Cancun and it is perfectly safe and controlled.

I'm 29 (for three more weeks *cough*), single and living here and there is no problem at all to hook up with others! Trust me, you and your friends will NOT be dissapointed.

Thanks so much to those of you with helpful comments! Elysium...I aplogize for having intimidated you with my honest humour...however, you should know that your input actually sealed our fates. We will be in PDC based upon your assurance that there are no hairy-chested, gold laden men hanging about looking for cheap 'action'!! Our particular challenge would be in the form of a man our age that can contribute to intelligent conversation...still has a sense of humour and is 'not' easily intimidated by an intelligent/successful woman who enjoys life in a respectable way! So...thanks for your input most of all! Hope u all have a very blessed day!

I was working at a Club Med and happened to have one week reserverd solely for Olivia. The only men allowed in the hotel were the employees, and we were asked to refrain attending the nightclub and minimize our presence as possible.
Those vacations are not just for lesbians, but for women bored to death of daily chores as dealing with kids and husband, or just not enjoying male company for a change.
I met some very nice people that week.

Like men would still not hit on women at a lesbian convention.... Note that the hotel had to tell the men not to talk to the women...just sayin!
