Suggestions for an AI outside of Mexico please?

We will be taking a vaca first week of August to another desination Jamaica, Costa Rica, etc. Anyone have a favorite besides playa of course

Hey Blondy! Dominican Republic has fantastic beaches, esp. around Punta Cana. We stayed years ago at the Barcelo Bavaro resort and loved it there. Not much to do off the resort (this may have changed), but overall it was a relaxing and wonderful vacation.
