OMG......I had no idea! I loved the guy. I have known him since I moved here and got all my clients to buy dishes and glasses from him. Since I live in PA I didn't see much of him but had no idea he was ill. I am crying...I am really sad!

Yes, it was heartbreaking. Jimmy's death sealed 2009 as possibly one of the worst years of my life. ((hugs)), friend.

Heather...I just now saw this thread. Perhaps too late, but you, his family & friends and Jimmy are all in our thoughts.

I just saw this....Jimmy was one of the coolest people I have ever met. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. If the world were full of Jimmy's we'd have no problems. I raise a glass.......

Man this sucks......

Wow. So sorry to hear about Jimmy. I've been to Playa only one time for a couple weeks, back when Hurricane DEAN was threatening. All flights in were cancelled but after a couple days I finally got on the first flight in (10 people aboard). All the locals were taking down plywood and having their first beers in town since a few days, I was one of the very few tourists. Bumped into Jimmy who got a kick that I had somehow got on a flight in and he dragged me from Pinche Gringos to Beer Bucket to various local joints and I met his bud Keith and the Bloody Chicas and went to Mannes for meat & Jeager etc etc, he essentially just took the newbie under his wing for week while the town came back to normal. Great guy! Glad I got to meet him! I will tip a drink in his honor tonight! RIP
